A Letter from Fr. Stube Regarding the Fall Event

Dear Friends of SCI:

This year we have challenged ourselves to make our Fall Event affordable for all in the port.  This is in line with our role in the port of providing an accessible place where the people in all parts of the maritime industry might gather to network and socialize.

We realized that the rising cost of the Fall Gala in the past put this event out of reach for many, therefore we have created an event that is half the cost.  We have also designed the night to be more low-key and fun with the theme “Music Through the Decades”.

This year we will continue our practice of honoring a body of work by a Friend of the Port.  In the spring we honored the Holt family for four generations of innovation in Philadelphia and South Jersey.  This fall we honor the South Jersey Port Corporation for its decades of creative work under the leadership of Kevin Castagnola and the late Joe Balzano.  Philadelphia and South Jersey is a stronger port thanks to visionary leadership by these and others who have shaped the fabric of this industry in the region.

I hope you will plan to be a part of the evening of October 15, 2015 beginning at 5:30 pm in Essington.  There will be plenty of parking, lots of good food, music and dancing, and good opportunities for networking and community building.

Best Regards,

Peter+
