Trinity Episcopal Church in Solebury Pa responds generously to call for warm winter clothing

 Trinity Solebury

Trinity Episcopal Church, Solebury, PA.

SCI is blessed with many friends throughout the Delaware Valley.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank the congregation and Outreach Committee of Trinity Episcopal Church in Solebury Pa.  The Rev. Marshall K. Shelly, Gail Harbaugh and Jean Evans are shown on the altar with their bounty for our visiting seafarers delivered to us a few weeks ago.  They designed the bags shown in the picture and had their parishioners bring in clothing donations to help us with the onslaught of requests for warm winter clothing.  The basket is overflowing with hand knitted caps and scarves for our annual “Ditty Bag Program”.

Fortunately for us, this is only one of the stories about the kindness that surrounds our mission to these brave merchant mariners.  Most of the seafarers calling the ports of Philadelphia and South Jersey are from warmer climates, so we welcome your winter clothing donations.  As quoted by B.C. Forbes, “The size of your body is of little account; the size of your brain is of much account; the size of your heart is of the most account of all.”
