Welcome to Philadelphia, and we look forward to serving you! Here are some tips to help us respond as effectively as possible to your transport needs.
1. Request a transport AT LEAST two hours ahead of time by calling SCI at 1-215-922-2562.
2. If possible, please provide a United States phone number in case we need to contact your ship. SCI cannot return overseas phone calls, nor can we reply to WhatsApp.
3. Specify the following transport request details:
– Destination, purpose
– Pickup time at ship
– Return time from destination
– Number of seafarers to be transported
4. Notify all crew members of confirmed transport details.
5. Assure that crew members and terminal security gate have proper clearance and paperwork.
Transport requests are handled on a first come-first served basis, and can be discussed with both SCI dispatchers and ship visitors. Our dispatchers and drivers do their absolute best to fully respond to each request. We ask seafarers to contact SCI as early as possible about transports because, with many terminals spread along 40 miles on each side of the river, our ship visitors do face logistical constraints.
Our transport service is best characterized as pre-arranged group transport, and on some occasions we ask ship crews to share a van and pickup or return times.
