HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
Linda Kutelmack, a friend and supporter of SCI, asked Michel's Bakery if they'd be interested in making a donation to support our mission to seafarers, and we were stunned by the response - 650 beautiful and delicious cupcakes!
Thanks to the Bakery's generosity, our ship visitors will be able to deliver sweet treats to seafarers on 27 ships in celebration of Valentine's Day.

2,357 DITTY BAGS
During the recent holiday season, we provided gifts to 2,357 seafarers whose vessels spent time in our Delaware River ports -- significantly more than last year.. Each ditty bag contained between 7 and 10 gifts, including necessities like toothpaste and shaving cream, treats such as candy or gum, and warm gloves, hat, or scarf.
Seafarers spend the holidays far from home and family, and for many these are the only gifts they receive. They deeply appreciate this gesture that shows someone cares and wishes them well.
We are grateful to the churches, businesses, and individuals who donated items for the ditty bags, knitted beautiful scarves and hats, baked cookies, delivered boxes of gifts to us, and showed up to help us pack them. Last but not least, to our staff and volunteers who lugged heavy sacks full of ditty bags up gangways and ladders to deliver them to seafarers up and down the river.
THANKS TO YOU ALL! ... See MoreSee Less
